Catching up with P52

I had fallen out of the habit of blogging so much that I have forgotten to update it even though I have been keeping up with this year's Project 52.  Oops =\  So here are a few photos ... I am promising myself that I will be better at the documentation of the project, so I will be posting a few more in the next few days in an attempt to catch up to the current week.

Week 2 - "Storytelling"

This teddy bear was given to me by my father when I was a small child.  I named him "Cinnonim Bear" because he is the color of cinnamon and sugar but I could correctly say "cinnamon" at the time.  He now sits on a shelf in my son's room.

Week 3 - "Light"

This is the carousel in our local mall.  If you are like my husband you are thinking "You know it's burry right?"  Yes.  I made it that way on purpose ... that's the point of the photo.  It's supposed to capture the light in a slightly different way than you normally see it.  

Project 52 ...Round 2

It's been a very long time since I last blogged, but a LOT has happened since our wedding.  We now have a baby!  His name is Beckett.  He was born October 21st of 2014.  He was 7 pounds 3 ounces and 19.5 inches long.  He is amazing.  Everything that "they" say about parenthood is completely right on.  He makes our world go 'round and he's only been here for 12 weeks tomorrow.

All that said, I am going to do my damnedest to finish the Project 52 this year.  So below is my week one photo.  The theme was "Fresh".  We have a fresh new life in our family to help us start our year.

Every week, the woman who runs the project (myfourhensphotography.com) picks "Eye Candy", which is 15-20 photos from the week's theme that spoke to her or she just really liked.  It doesn't necessarily mean that they were the "best" photos, just ones she liked.  I was already pretty proud of my photo, and then she chose it for one of her Eye Candy photos this week!!  I was super excited about that =D

This photo is taken from a mirror in Beckett's room that is kind of beat up and old, so the photo isn't as crisp and clear as I normally like them to be, but I don't think I *could* get a super clear image out of this mirror.

I've been MIA =(

I've definitely been missing in action lately because ... we got married!  =)  With final details, meetings, the wedding itself, the honeymoon, and work, I didn't take many photos the past few months.  The couple of things I did photograph will be up in the next few days, but for now I'll share a little tidbit of our wedding photos for your enjoyment.

We had Lilly Photography document our wedding and they are AH-MAZE-ING.  I could seriously look at the photos all day long ... for like a week straight.  They make my heart happy, and I hope you enjoy this small look into our day.  (again - I did not take these photos, Lilly Photography did)

 Below is one of my favorite images from the day ... but my favorite really depends on what day you ask me because I'll probably have a different favorite tomorrow.  They are all just so stinkin' good!!

 If you've read this before, you might have seen the photos when we first got engaged and know that we met at our CrossFit gym.  So, the gym is a pretty big part of our life, so it clearly had to be part of our day in some way.

Lilly Photography is so amazing.  If you or anyone you know are getting married, I recommend them as highly as anyone possibly could.  I can't imagine working with anyone else.

In the next few days I will post some photos of our honeymoon to Greece and some photos I took of my niece (or what was supposed to only be one of them, but the other got curious and I snuck some cute images of her in too).  This weekend is also her 1 year photos and cake smash ... so be on the lookout for some cuteness from that too!

Cole part 2

After WAY too long (unfortunately, life gets crazy sometimes), I finished Cole's photos.  He is too stinkin cute.

I've been crazy busy with the holidays and wedding planning and then we got a new puppy (some photos of him to come!), so it's been a while since I took more than a just a few snapshots and today I got reminded why I love photography.

The last post was Jeff and Nicole's maternity photos and today I had the privilege of taking some 2 months photos of their adorable little man, Cole.  This is just a little teaser of my favorite 2 photos (so far) from this morning ... so more to come of this adorable little guy!

Jeff & Nicole Maternity

Jeff is my best friend's big brother, so I have known Jeff since I was five.  He and his adorable wife Nicole are only weeks from meeting their little boy (who's name remains a mystery).  I was very excited to photograph them during such a special time in their lives and I can't wait to meet the little guy!  These are my favorite from their session this weekend.

Since they are having a little boy and we were at Cantigny (named after the battle), they wanted a portion of their photos to be Army themed, which was super cute.

Changes

I am really excited because there have been some changes with my photography.  Starting with the fact that I got a logo made =)  I think have all the kinks worked out (it was grey at first but it didn't really show up, so I got it updated to be white).  But I can't figure out quite how to size the logo to make it the title of the blog all together, so I'm gonna keep working on it.  In the mean time I wanted to put it up because I think it's adorable! ... and *I* like to look at it because I had the logo made with what will be my married name even thought it's not really mine until May ;)
